Stuffies!

My new favorite thing is stuffies and lots of them! I love, love, love to take every last one of them out of the basket and throw them around the living room, chew on them, pounce on them, run from them and even sleep with them. The best part is my foster mom plays this game with me where she puts them back in the basket just so I can take them all back out again! Isn't that nice of her? I'm starting to think stuffies are better than treats (well almost).

Larry's First M&G

Larry had his first real meet and greet today (he made a brief visit at 100 Oaks week before last but didn't get to stay long). Needless to say, he is passed out snoring loudly right now. He met new friends and leaned on other greys and humans alike. He had no interest in any of the small animals there or the small dogs that came into the store.

Larry is a laid back, easy going, loving guy! He even decided to lay down on the mat towards the end (something my resident hound has yet to do). While he's worn out now I'm sure he'll be ready to go again next weekend!

Mid-week Wrap-up

Hey everyone, Larry here again. I haven't posted in a few days so I thought I'd share some new pictures and let you know what's been happening in my fabulous retirement life.

First, the pictures...as you can see in the first picture, I love to lay around--even on the bathmat while my foster mom gets ready in the morning. I just want to be close to the humans (I don't want to miss anything that might happen or a chance for an ear rub). In the second picture you can see my new found love for stuffies (the house shoe is not a stuffie--I figured that out by the sharp "NO" that came from the foster parents--I didn't get that "stuffie" again). I love to throw the toys around, pounce on them and make them squeak. When I get worn out from playing I will lay and chew on the bone that I found in the toy basket.

Between posts I went on my first home visit. It was a lot of fun and I was told that I did really well. I'm hoping that means that it won't be long before I find my forever home.

Gotta run for now. Hope everyone has as greyt of the rest of the week as I plan on having!

Chillaxin'

Larry here. Thought I'd drop in and let everyone know how I'm doing in my foster home....

I have finally conquered those pesky things the fp's (foster parents) call stairs. My fp's no longer have to lead me up and down by my collar and they always clap and say "good job Larry" every time I go up or down (I really like being praised). Sometimes for fun, I'll even go up them when it's not time to go upstairs--of course then the fp's call me and I have to go running back down. I also take the concrete stairs outside like a pro.

I treat my foster home as one big kennel so I do all of my business outside (on lead to boot). The fp's seem to really be impressed by this. The resident grey lifts his leg outside (on everything) but I prefer to squat.

As far as my actual kennel goes, I eat my meals in there and stay there during the day while the fp's are at work. Sometimes I go in right away when they say "kennel up" and other times it takes a slight tug on my collar before I'll go in (I like to keep them on their toes). Once inside I don't make a peep or protest at all. I like to stand around for a bit, nest in my blankets and then lay down for a siesta. At night I get to sleep in the floor on a nice bed beside my fp's bed and right next to the resident Grey's and the little dog's beds.

I'm still not interested in the little dog they call Blossom. She runs around and jumps on the furniture (how rude) and I just lay on my big comfy bed and watch her. Outside I've seen lots of small animals but I just don't have time for them. There are too many other exciting things to see, sniff and do while I'm out on my walk.

I like to be loved on and I'm learning about these things called stuffies. I'll grab one out of the basket every now and then and give it a toss in the air for good measure.

I can't believe (and neither can the fp's) it's only been a little over a week since I retired. My fp's keep telling me that I'm going to make somebody a very good forever grey someday soon and I can't wait!

My 1st Meet and Greet

Larry here....this post is going to be short because as you can see from my picture I am exhausted with a capital "E". Today was my first meet and greet and I had a blast. The weather was nice, there were lots of hounds and so many new people. The best part--they all wanted to pet me! I loved all the attention and I didn't care one bit about those small critters inside or the little doggies that were walking in and out of the store. I can't wait to go back next week so I'm starting now on my recouperation. I'll post again soon when I have more energy. Nite!

Friday, May 28, 2010

Hello again everyone! It's Larry! I just wanted to let everyone know that according to my foster mom, I'll be at this thing called a meet & greet this Saturday at the 100 Oaks PetsMart. Evidently, it's where lucky hounds get to go and be loved on by all kinds of people. You should all come out and see just how special I am.
Oh, my foster mom keeps calling me her little narcissist. I'm not sure what that means but she says it whenever I'm staring at myself in the bathroom mirror and when I stop at all the glass front doors on our walks to check my handsome self out.
Anyway, things are greyt here and I'm loving my retirement. I hope to see you all on Saturday.

Two of My Favorite Things

Hi All, it's Larry here. I thought I'd share a few pictures of some of my new favorite things to do now that I'm retired.

My foster parents say I'm still doing really good and they seem to be extremely proud that I do all of my business outside (like I'd go anywhere else). Well, time to get back to my favorite pastime--laying on the new bed they bought for me this weekend.
